Damiana - In Memoriam

My name is Damiana Butross. I was born in Egypt. I am 18 years old.

 

I have a very big family which includes me, my brother, my mother and my father. My brother‘s name is Fady. He is 12 years old. He is the youngest and I love him very much. He is studying at Er Amal Walmor – it‘s an Egyptian school. He is in grade 4. I hope that one day he will become a smart doctor.

 

And I have my lovely mother. She is a very good mother that I have. I hope that God will bless her and give her a long life. And I have my dear lovely father. His name is Butross. He is a driver. I also hope that God will bless him too.

 

And I‘m learning now at Nile Union Academy. This is the first year for me at this school. I‘m in ESL class. And I hope that in the future to be a doctor to care for and save people all over the world.

 

(Damiana is our student who passed away few weeks ago due to heart failure. May she rest in peace.)

Victoria

My name is Victoria Charles. I am eighteen years old. I‘m studying at NUA school. I am a dorm student. I am from South Sudan and I live with my family in Egypt. I have three sisters and one brother. My father died in January 15 2005 because he was very sick for a long time. After my father died we have lost our home and there was no money that we could help ourselves and we couldn‘t go to school. So we came to Egypt for help from UN who help refugees to travel in other countries for better life. They didn‘t accept us. SO my mom got a job and paid for our schooling and our house. In the beginning it was hard to live but in the time we learned how to live in hard time and love each other, no matter what is going on. I went to African Hope Learning Center to study there. They accepted me and told me that if I pass every semester they would help me pay the rest of my school. I tried and I succeeded in all of my semester. I passed but they didn‘t do what they promised me. When I was there my hope was to enter NUA school so I can get a good education and prove myself.

 

After a long time I spent God had made his promise to me and I entered at NUA school because it‘s written in the Bible „“ask and I will give you.“ There‘s better education at NUA school but it cost much money to be there as a student. I don‘t know how I can continue my study there and my mom can‘t pay for my school. I am asking God to help me and to be with me because I really need to learn and finish my education and go to college. Now I am a dorm student and I want to be a doctor in the future and have a better life with my family.

 

For all the people who read my life story, I want to tell you that God cares about you and he is with you in your hard time. He had made your life a better life in your future and he knew what all of you need, just He needs you to ask and He is going to help you in your way. But brothers and sisters, it is so difficult to have a good life. You must suffer in your life so you can be a good man/woman in the future and have a better life. 

Margaret

My name is Margaret and I am 17 years old. I‘m from South Sudan. I live in Egypt with all my family. I‘m studying at NUA. I‘m a dorm student and I have two brothers. My big brother is in college and the other one is studying with me at NUA. I love my brothers so much and they love me too. My parents are the perfect parents in the whole world. My mother is not working but she takes care of us and spends all her time serving us. My dear father was working as a policeman but now he is not working because he is very sick. We are a happy family because we are all friends and show love to each other. My brothers work and study at the same time. They help me to pay for my school since my father got sick. Now I‘m trying my best and studying very hard because I want to get good grades to make my brothers proud of me. I want to graduate from NUA and go to college in America. I want to be a doctor in the future but I see it‘s difficult because to study in America will cost me much money. I pray to God everyday to be with me and my family and to give my brothers a good job so that they will be able to help me complete my education. 

Micheal

My name is Michel. I am 18 years old. My mother is 45 years old. My brother is 28 years old. I live in Assut and it is a very beautiful city. My city is very big. My village is very clean. My village is very small. My house is very big. I have a dog and a cat. My family is very small. I have two brothers. My brother Joseph lives in the States and my brother Amde lives there too. He got married last year. My brother Amde has a son, his name is Samuel. I like basketball and computers. I like listening to music and watching TV. I hope to travel to USA. I hope to become a doctor. I hope to become a policeman. My brother hopes to travel to Australia. 

Yousif

My name is Yousif Camell. I am 15 years old. I am from Zowak. I have three brothers and I don‘t have sisters. Girgis is 11 years old, Escander is 16 years old, Rushdie is 2 years old. And my father is 44 years old. He has a good job in Zowak. My family lives in Zowak. I have many hobbies like swimming and playing soccer. I like NUA because it is a beautiful school. Since I came to NUA I have decided to study hard until I graduate. My hope is to travel to Australia so I can continue my studies.

 

My friends in Zowak were very bad. They taught me bad things like insulting other people and many bad things to do with them. After many years, some people told me that there is a school in El Gabal El Asfar, Kalyobaya. I asked for this school‘s information. Now I am in this school. I have many friends here. They have taught me to stop doing bad things as my old friends taught me in my village.

 

When I came to NUA I found new friends that taught me how to pray. They are helping me to be a strong man and they are trying to make me a good worker to work hard. Sometimes I get frustrated when my grade is bad. In school I learn how to work and how to organize my time. My friends taught me how to clean my room. At home I always keep it clean. Also, at my home I started to wake up early to work. In school I found that life is different than what I thought it was when I was at home. 

Mina

My name is Mina. I am sixteen years old. I live in wonderful village called Ashroba. In my village I have two friends named Bebo and Toni. Every night we were playhing football and computer games from 9 pm to 12 am because we are so good friends. About myself: I was getting up at 7 am. After that I ate breakfast. When I finished eating breakfast I went to work with my friends. I worked with an engineer named Michael. I worked with Michael for one month in the summer. After I finished the work I came home and took a shower. I sometimes went to drive my friend‘s car. I was happy when I drove the car.

 

I have five sisters but I don‘t have any brothers. My sisters are very good. I have two sisters in NUA, called Jackline and Ireny. Jackline is in grade eleven. She always helps me in the studies. She is friendly and she is usually happy and she is very good at school. She gets high grades in her class. About Ireny: She is the wife of Girgis Malak. Ireny has a beautiful girl named Jessica. Jessica is about two months. She helped me in my studies before she got her daughter. And I have other three sisters named Manal, Rahil and Sara. Sara is in a university in Lebanon. She graduated in 2009 from NUA, before I came to the school. She got very high scores in her class.

 

About my father: I have a father named Girgis. He is 53 years old. He works as a secretary at school in Ashroba. He sometimes goes to trips with the students. I sometimes go to work with my father. About my mother: My mother has a job like my father. She always cooks after her work and washes the dishes. She makes breakfast, lunch and dinner by herself. She always makes wonderful food. Sometimes my cousin comes to eat some food with me from my mom‘s food that she cooks. She wakes me up every day. When I wake up I see the breakfast on the dining table. After I finish the breakfast I spend my day with my friends. At the end of my day my mom gives me tea to drink because I like to drink it before I go to bed. I get very tired at the end of every day. When I was ten years old I loved playing football all the time. And I didn‘t like to go to school because the teachers were angry all the time. I like swimming. When I was fifteen years old I wished to go to NUA because it is a beautiful school. Also the students are very clever (not all). After a while what happened: I came to NUA.

 

My wish in life is to graduate from NUA and to travel to America and to go to university to finish my education. At the end of my essay, I hope that you enjoyed reading it and I wish you the best for all of you and my friends. 

Yonan

My name is Yonan. I‘m seventeen years old and I have also a very big family. God has gaven me a very big grace which is my amazing family. They encourage me to depend on myself. They were very happy when they saw me praying to my God and they also helped me to get a good attitude with all the people.

 

Also I have just one brother. His name is Abanoub and he is planning to be a dentist. He is in Cairo University. But I don‘t have any sister. I have two aunts, and I have also five uncles. And they decided to send me to an American school which is called NUA. It is a perfect school to study English. My dream is to be a doctor in the future because I want to help all the people. When I was young I was born in a very great city and it is called Zewak. It is a good city to me.

Marina

My name is Marina Emad. I was born in Zewak. I am 15 years old. I have 50 friends. I love to eat meat with my friends and I love to eat pizza and I love to eat meat in my home. I love my mother, father, sister and brothers. I love my God so much. I speak English in my room all the time because I love English. Sometimes I speak Arabic with my friends in my room.

 

I have one sister and three brothers. I have 15 uncles and 5 aunts. I love them so much. I learn English at NUA with my friends. They are very nice to me. I respect them so much. I work in the cafeteria with my friends. I have a lot of friends at NUA. My favorite subject is English. After I finish school I will go to America because I want to continue my school. I want to study medicine to become a doctor because I want to help people in the future. My skill is to draw pictures of nature. I love to read about nature and how God created it. I like to study in my room. I respect everyone in the school and also my principal and the teachers. After I finish my college I will come to my school to help them because I need the best for the school. I hope to be a good person in the future and help people. I want my school to be the best forever. 

Philemon

My name is Philemon Adel. I‘m fifteen years old and I‘m living in the very great and famous city Alexandria. It has a very good places by the seas and lakes. It also has a great place which is the Library. I have a great family which God has given to me. They are working really hard to help me get a good education and help me to know God my Creator. And my father‘s name is Adel. My mother is Tahany. My brother is Abanoub and my sister is Mariam. I also have four uncles. They are very funny when they meet each other. The biggest one of my uncles is very strong. If he decides to do anything, he can do it. He also is a good person and I can get any advice from him. My hobby in the future is to be an engineer or a counter. And I try to do my best to arrive at my dream. But I‘m still working to do the best thing that God has given to me. 

Rugina

My name is Rugina Isaac. I am seventeen years old. My city is Fayoum. It is a beautiful, big, comfortable and very famous city. I like my city very much.

 

My family isn‘t big. My father is a doctor and my mother is a teacher. My mother has a big and nice salon in my city and I like to go to these everyday. And I have one brother. He is a very kind person and helps me all the time and gives me all things that I need. My brother is a student in college and I have five uncles and ten cousins in my familiy. My cousins are very kind and helpful and help me all the time and I enjoy my time with my cousins. I like my family so much.

 

I like to listen to music and I like my nickname. It‘s Roge mx, favorite name for me. My hope is to go to college and I like to swim. I wish to go to America and continue in college. I will be married in the future. I don‘t know who this person is yet. We will see this person in the future. I will be an air hostess in the future.
